LA CRONACA di Alona

Ebbene si, lo so cosa state pensando.. era ora. Sappiamo, ma comprenderete l’ essre un poco frastornati dopo questo confronto assai teso ed incerto fino alla fine, come peraltro il Grande
Oracolo AUTZ aveva previsto. 
Il bel campo di Brescia ci attende in una calda giornata e puntuali ci vede arrivare. Si gioca oggi una delle due semifinali per accedere al traguardo del Superbollo (si dice così?) dell’ Aquila il 6 giugno. Tese le due compagini prima dell’ inizio.
Il primo kickoff vede un improduttivo drive dei frogs che con un buon punt consegnano la palla agli avversari in profondità nel loro campo. Sorpresa, i bengals non schierano il loro QB titolare mettendo in cabina di regia il n° 33, il fullback Milesi. Una tenue soddisfazione percorre la panchina neroargento. Inizia però il solito tambureggiante gioco di corsa da parte del collaudato Barbolla, che percorre grandi quantità di yard ad ogni portata. il bravo Milesi da QB permette lo svilupparsi di micidiali giochi in option, che disorientano alquanto la giovane difesa neroargento, che arriva alla tenzone sulla scorta di non esaltanti statistiche. I bresciani trotterellano sicuri per la griglia verde arrivando alla prima segnatura, con relativo PAT (7 a 0). Il successivo possesso legnanese non porta nulla di buono ma nemmeno i bresciani, nonostante l’ ottimo gioco di corsa, riescono a concretizzare ulteriormente.
Sul finire del 2° quarto il giovane Kevin, in costante crescita, riesce ad afferrare in volo l’ ovale lanciato dai Bengals, propiziando un pregevole intercetto che rimette in pista i Frogs, che finalmente calibrando alcuni ottimi lanci ed alcune ficcanti corse riescono ad arrivare alla segnatura, con una corta corsa centrale di Iannotta. Il determinato coaching staff opta per la trasformazione da due punti che riesce, con un preciso lancio su Caronni. 8 a 7 ed è vantaggio per i Frogs! L’ ultimo drive dei Bengals si spegne nelle mani di un ulteriore intercetto, ad opera del giovane Colescia.
L’ intervallo galvanizza i Frogs che vedono materializzarsi la prospettiva di un insperato viaggio a L’ Aquila.
I Bengals al ritorno in campo appaiono un poco nervosi e commettono alcuni falli che ne complicano la reazione. Ci pensa il solito Barbolla a trovare il corridoio giusto e rompendo circa una decina di placcaggi riesce a segnare un pregevole touchdown con una corsa di 60 yds circa. La trasformazione porta il punteggio sul 14 a 8, troppo poco per rassegnarsi alla sconfitta.
L’ attacco neroargento riesce difatti per ben due volte a portarsi a ridosso della endzone bresciani ma senza sortire effetti anche a causa di un paio di ricezioni clamorosamente mancate dai WR in area di meta.
Implacabile la fine dell’ incontro scende sulle formazioni combattenti e rimane spazio solamente per le recriminazioni, la doccia e la salamella. Sportivamente le squadre si salutano e si complimentano vicendevolmente a centrocampo, augurandosi nuovi confronti la prossima stagione.

L’ ANALISI di Kowalski

Che dire con in bocca ancora l’ amaro della sconfitta, manco fossero due bottiglie di Fernet, quando si è sfiorata la vittoria? Niente, naturalmente.
I Bengals a sorpresa senza il QB titolare riescono comunque a mostrare un gioco di corsa alquanto vario con le option ben eseguite, oltre che le solite travolgenti corse del RB Barbolla. Il timido tentativo di lanciare viene affossato dai due intercetti dei difensori Kevin K e Colescia, di gran lunga i due prospetti difensivi più interessanti dell’ anno. Troppa l’ inesperienza complessiva per fronteggiare le option – champagne dei bluargento, che comunque anche questa volta hanno fatto tutto quanto in loro potere per complicarsi la vita, rendendo realistica la prospettiva di una clamorosa vittoria dei Frogs.
Ottima la prova del QB Yari Gorla, a cui va lo scettro del migliore a questo turno (a parte il già citato Barbolla). Possiamo dire che a Brescia l’ attacco legnanese non è parso nel complesso all’ altezza di quel ragazzo che lancia il pallone.
Honorable mention per il dinamico duo Kevin K. e Colescia, attesi a nuove prove e ad un radioso futuro.

LA SPIEGAZIONE (THE EXPLAINATION) …for our English – reading fans

ALONA’S CHRONICLE: The nice green turf field of Brescia is waiting for us in a hot day, and punctual we arrive. Today the match decides who is going to play for the Superbowl in L’ Aquila the 6th of June. The 2 teams are quite nervous before the game.
The first possession brings nothing to the Frogs, that with a good punt give the ball to the Bengals deep in their field. Surprisingly Brescia puts as QB its FB Milesi, n° 33. The well – improved RB Barbolla begins its drumming running game, and riding all across the gridiron with a lot of yds every run, scores the first TD with PAT, the score is 7-0. The game in the next drives is stuck, and by the end of the 2nd qtr the young CB Kevin K. makes a good interception giving the ball back to the Frogs, that finally find their way to the endzone with a short run by Iannotta, transformed by a good catch by Caronni, blocking the score to a 8-7 lead of the Frogs. A second interception by Colescia sends the teams in the locker rooms.
Back to the field, the Bengals show a quite nervous attitude and commit penalties that complicate their reaction. It’ s due to the usual Barbolla to find the right path and, breaking something like ten tackles, run about 60 yds to score the TD that gives Brescia the lead, 14 – 8. It’s too few to cry for the loss: the Frogs’ offence reaches for 2 times the red zone but some mistakes, like 2 dropped balls in the endzone, don’ t allow to score. The referees blow the whistle of the end, and there’s room left only for the complaints, the shower and the sandwiches. Sportsmanlike, the two teams cheer each other at the centre of the field, wishing new matches next season.

KOWALSKI’ S ANALYSIS: What to say when you still have the bitter in your mouth for the loss, like you drank 2 bottles of Fernet? Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
The Bengals, without their starting QB, show a various running game with well – executed options, other than the usual roaring runs of Barbolla. The shy passing game is immediately stopped by the two interceptions of the young players Kevin K. and Colescia, by far the best defensive prospects of this year. By the way the defence is too unimproved to face the sparkling option runs of the blue - silver team, that on the other side, also this time makes every possible effort to complicate its life, making the perspective of a Frogs’ victory realistic.
Outstanding show by the Frogs’ QB Yari Gorla, who holds the trophy of the MVP of the game (other than Brescia’s RB Barbolla). We can say that in Brescia the Frog’s offence has been not as confident as that guy who throws the ball. Honourable mention for the dynamic duo Kevin K – Colescia, under the spotlight for a probable shining future.
